MPEG4 and H.264 Solutions

With years of experience in multimedia application development, InterObject has created a highly advanced suite of MPEG4 and H.264 software components. These comprise the following:

  • MPEG4 Codecs

This component provides a highly portable and fully optimized MPEG4 Video Simple profile Encoder and Decoder. InterObject's MPEG4 codec is available for a wide range of processor platforms (Intel Pentium and XScale, Texas Instruments OMAP, VADIS and others) and a variety of operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Windows CE/Windows Mobile, Linux, Nucleus and others).

  • MPEG4 Multiplexer and Demultiplexer

InterObject's MPEG4 multiplexer and demultiplexer can help software vendors generate MPEG4 and 3GP/3GP2-compliant files. Our multiplexer generates MPEG4 and 3GP files that are fully compatible with the most popular media players and technologies (including Apple QuickTime, Philips MP4net, RealNetworks RealPlayer, Microsoft Media Player and Helix Media Player) as well as the most popular handsets, including NTT Docomo, Vodafone and KDDI. We provide support for multiplexing of Hint tracks that allow files to be streamed from the most widespread streaming servers (Darwin, Helix). With support for advanced, HTTP progressive downloads, files generated by InterObject's multiplexer component may be played back even as they are being downloaded to portable handsets.

  • H.264 Codecs

To keep pace with emerging video encoding technologies, InterObject has developed a highly portable and fully optimized H.264 video encoder and decoder. InterObject's H.264 codecs support baseline and main profiles and are fully JM76 bitstream-compatible.


The following images illustrate differences in output quality when using either MPEG4 or H.264 with video clips encoded at bitrates of 300 and 42 Kbps, accordingly.
